FLAMEBAR FIRE-RATED HVAC DESIGN SOLUTIONS FOR ARCHITECTS

SIMPLIFY FIRE-RATED A2L ENCLOSURE AND HVAC DESIGN

FLAMEBAR SYSTEMS OFFER SUPERIOR DESIGN FLEXIBILITY BY SAVING VALUABLE SPACE.

Flamebar vertical shafts are compact, achieving two-hour ratings without conventional multi-layer shaft wall assemblies. This results in a reduced shaft cross section that yields an increase in Gross Leasable Area ranging from 20-40%, while also reducing construction materials and waste. Flamebar systems have compact ASTM E119 listed 2-hour shafts, so designs will save between 2 and 4 inches on each side compared to conventional 2-hour shafts.

Flamebar offers a code-compliant low-profile design in the horizontal configuration, saving space and simplifying coordination. With less interstitial space occupied by HVAC systems, ceiling height is maximized.

Flammable A2L refrigerant regulations require fire-rated enclosures protect in the event of fire and contain refrigerants in the event of leaks. Flamebar A2L systems offer design flexibility, are compact, install easily, can be used with natural or mechanical ventilation solutions, and are code-compliant. Drywall enclosures are space-intensive, are difficult to construct to prevent leaks, require vapor barriers to avoid mold and mildew infestation, and are costly.

HORIZONTAL ENCLOSURES MUST BE TESTED IN A HORIZONTAL CONFIGURATION

Details Matter. According to the Gypsum Association:

“When designing the enclosure…systems designed/tested for vertical surfaces cannot be arbitrarily used on the horizontal (i.e. underneath side) of the enclosure…the system must be built as the individual assemblies were tested.”

Flamebar systems ARE tested and listed for use in horizontal applications. Flamebar vertical and horizontal HVAC systems are tested and rated to 2,000 °F for up to 4 hours.

HOW FLAMEBAR FIRE-RATED HVAC SYSTEMS ENABLE DESIGN FREEDOM

Compact and low-profile fire-rated HVAC design solutions save on space, offering architects more freedom during schematic design.

SPACE SAVINGS INCREASES GLA

Flamebar vertical shafts are compact, achieving a two-hour rating without conventional multi-layer shaft wall assemblies. Compared to conventional construction, Flamebar offers a reduced shaft cross section that yields an increase in Gross Leasable Area ranging from 20-40% and a lower profile for horizontal configurations.

DIVERSE APPLICATIONS OFFER DESIGN VERSATILITY

Flamebar systems are rated for up to 4 hours. Diverse applications include ventilation, fan enclosures, A2L refrigerant lines, grease, generator room exhaust, and fuel lines. Flamebar fan enclosures assure compliance continuity through the entire fire-rated system. Flamebar grease ducts do not require welding, making them an excellent choice for new or renovation projects. Flamebar systems can be fabricated from galvanized or stainless steel in rectangular or spiral configurations.

THE FLAMEBAR A2L REFRIGERANT SOLUTION IS A COMPACT DESIGN

Flamebar protects flammable refrigerant lines in less space and contains in the event of leaks, at a significantly less cost than fire-rated drywall assemblies. Compact designs protect multiple pipes and easily fit into wall assemblies. Flamebar A2L systems offer natural and mechanical ventilation options and simplify design and mechanical coordination.
